Bi-weekly group sessions are held on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. at the Peace Center of Connecticut where the formerly incarcerated and the helpers come together for real talk that allows the person to voice their needs and receive the help required to meet those needs.

The Bi-weekly sessions begin with introductions of those in the room, an activity titled “Tell me why you are mad or glad”, followed by a meal and finally to the topics for the session. Topics are selected, in advance, by participants, for the group discussion.

Hang Time now includes social workers or psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, to be part of the Hang Time sessions. Best practice for certified counselors and clinicians is that each city will have local professionals to participate in the sessions when available for ease of access of follow-up if requested by participants.
