Peace Conversations The Peace Conversation is envisioned as intimate group sessions for people to come together to discuss and find solutions to the underlying causes of discord, disagreement, and the triggers that lead to division among members of a community.

Peace Climate Development Helping organizations, institutions and businesses develop the capacity, learn the skills, and develop the strategies to establish a Peaceful climate and culture within their work spaces and among the communities they serve.

Youth Peace Alliance Envisioned as a state-wide coalition of  middle and high-school aged youth who are interested in promoting a peaceful community, to help raise awareness among youth, and to develop an action agenda by way of Youth Leadership Development to promote a more peaceful community.

Training and Professional Development A variety of training, professional development and consultative services to schools, agencies, business, communities and government, related to peace.

The Professional Development services range from short two-hour presentations to full day or more training sessions, designed to be in-depth skill building sessions.

Consultation Services that support strategy development, skills development and leadership development range from one hour advising meetings to long term expert advice. 

Consultation services are available for professionals in the fields of community engagement, direct service providers, education, community organizers, youth development, formerly incarcerated (lived experience), conflict mediation & gang prevention.

Awareness

Peace Lives Here: Social Media Campaign This is a social media campaign aimed at making connections in the Peace community, raising awareness of the Peace Center, raising the donor base, and attendance to Peace Center events.

Chalk 4 Peace To promote the arts by coordinating assemblies of young artists of all ages to draw their vision of peace in public and private spaces with sidewalk chalk as a scheduled worldwide event.

Peace Center Birthday Celebration A yearly celebration of the birth/Non -Profit designation of the Peace Center. This event will be support fund raising efforts for the Peace Center.

Peace Games The PEACE GAMES is a non-traditional community-based event that brings people together to form teams and achieve hands-on tasks with a peace-related theme. This event will seek to be inclusive, developed in a manner that makes all ages and all skill levels comfortable participating. The goal of the PEACE GAMES is to create peace awareness, establish connections within any setting and to develop unity through a competitive bonding structure. The Peace Games will help fundraise for the Peace Center, develop partnerships, support community outreach and engagement efforts and increase community awareness related to the importance of Peace.

Peace Flag Raising Day An annual celebration of the commencement of International Peace Month . This event brings awareness to Peace across the State of Connecticut and the featured community. In partnership with community leaders, stakeholders and Peace Heroes the flag raising aims to bring everyone together in support of creating awareness for Peace.

Peace Heroes Awards An annual signature event to highlight and celebrate individuals within Connecticut, the nation and world who have been working tirelessly to promote a peaceful community. Our annual Peace Heroes Awards fundraiser celebrates those individuals.

Engagement

Windows to Peace A space designated for a 1.5-hour sessions, two weeknights per month. This group is open to the community and will focus on hands-on projects via the arts with a peace theme. The meetings will be structured each week with an opening activity and closing to include a guest speaker component. This hands-on art program is designed to support participants with finding clarity and balance through reflection and hands-on projects.

Brewing Peace An extension to the Peace Center of Connecticut's Peace Conversations that offer small group sessions for people to come together to discuss an aspect of peace and that lead to community action for Peace. Brewing Peace provides a lightly facilitated discussion for people to share their thoughts about peace in a comfortable setting. Whether you stop by with the intention to purchase a cup of coffee and join the conversation or, just happen to be at the café, enjoying the space – we want to meet you.

Legacy Hall (Permanent and Traveling exhibits) An educational and inspirational exhibit of Local/National Peace Heroes with the purpose of developing new leaders in the peace community across CT and to encourage others to become involved in supporting Peace efforts in their communities.
